"Money is not moral."

Kerry Hettinger's path to law wasn't a straight line, and that's exactly what makes him the attorney he is today.

Kerry grew up helping with the family business and joined the Navy right out of high school. After returning, he threw himself into academics, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Logic and Psychology from Spring Arbor College (now Spring Arbor University) and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Seminary. He spent years leading a congregation outside of Detroit, ministering to the same kinds of communities he'd eventually return to serve as an attorney.

When Kerry felt called to the law, he attended Harvard Law School, earning his Juris Doctorate in 1995. He came back to Michigan to support the same communities he'd ministered to, this time from a courtroom instead of a pulpit.

Kerry is known throughout Southwest Michigan as one of the leading bankruptcy experts in the region. With the support of his dedicated staff, who have been with him for over fifteen years, Kerry has helped with over a thousand successful debt reorganizations and repayment plans. Countless Michigan families have kept their homes, cars, farms, and businesses because of his work.
